Agronomic evaluations, yield and grade, and quality attributes are summarized in Tables 1, 2 and 3, respectively. Percentage stand ranged from 81 to 100% (Table 1); the least significant difference (LSD) was 23, so entrants did not differ significantly from one another. ND7132-1R had the poorest stand at 81%, and ND7982-1R had the next lowest at 85%. Both are thin skinned red selections. Vine sizes significantly differed, as expected, and ranged from very small for ND081557C-1P, ND7982-1R and Dakota Rose, to very large for All Blue, Chieftain, ND1243-1PY and ND12244Y-1R. Vine maturity ranged from 1.9 (early) for Yukon Gold to 4.4 (medium late) for ND6961-21PY. Stems per plant is indicative of seed quality including physiological age and seed size, tuber eye number (a genetic trait), and length of dormancy (also genet- ic). Stem numbers ranged from 1.6 for Yukon Gold to 3.2 for ND081557C-1P. Overall seed quali- ty was excellent in 2017 and this was reflected in the stem numbers.
