The morn- ing started out with a short rain shower with a little thunder and lightning but that quickly gave way to sunshine and a beautiful sunny day. The tournament started with a shotgun start at 10 AM with two teams on every tee box. There was a new champion this year as Thomas Sitzer took home the championship trophy after carding a 67. In second place was Carter Arendt with a 68 and in third was Jeremy Johnson with a 69, and in fourth place was Jake Thompson with a 73. Congratulations to all the golfers who participated in this years tournament. The Potato Associates provided the food and beverages again this year. They served brats and burgers and, of course, potato chips. The NPPGA would like to thank the Potato Associates for their ongoing support of the golf tournament, and also for their support at other NPPGA events. A special thank you to Jackie Midgarden and Brenda Nilson who did an outstanding job on the golf event. We would like to thank all of the sponsors who help to make this event so special for all the growers and industry people. There is alot of planning in advance of this event so thank you again to all who were involved. The NPPGA would like to thank everyone who attended this year’s tournament and invite them all back for next years tournament. We look forward to seeing everyone next year, Thursday, July 19th in Park River, North Dakota for the 40th Annual Golf Open. Until then we wish everyone a successful season. It was rest and relaxation time when you arrived at the Potato Associate tent. Thomas Sitzer takes home the championship trophy. T. J. Hall takes careful aim on this putt.
