Crowds were great and everyone had a great time! Even the rain shower we had late on Saturday afternoon didn’t deter the crowds as once the rain subsided the crowds came back out and enjoyed the sunshine and the parade! We thank all the wonderful volunteers and event and corporate sponsors who donate to help put on a wonder- ful family festival that has something for every age! We are very proud to have a festival still going for 25 years! Here are just a few of the winners from Potato Days: Chad Hayden and Joe Peasley of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota won the horseshoe tournament. Jill Iverson won the 10K in the women’s field and Taylor Arness won the 10K for men. Tonya Arndt won the women’s 5K and Rod Janikula won the mens 5K. Annete Krueger won the potato peeling contest and Justin Camperud won the men’s strongman contest. Trevor Nelson won the potato picking contest and Jim Kort and Jordan Schneeberger won the bean bag toss tournament. Ryan Lindbom took first place in the potato car races and Emma and Ben Bjerke won first is the lefse cooking con- test. Whether “spuds” were a part of your activities during Potato Days or you were a spec”tator” a great time was had by all during the 2016 Potato Days. Dates have already been set so mark your calendars for August 25 and 26, 2017 to join us for more “spud”riffic fun. “Spud” tacular and a “Peel”ing Events Attract over 20,000 to Annual Potato Days Festival Everyone had fun at the potato picking contest. These two gentlemen engage in a game of bean bag toss. The mashed potato wrestling was enjoyed by partici- pants and spectators alike.
