Because of these conditions the delegation was able to meet with a number of growers and see their packing sheds. Prior to lunch, the group toured Paul and Gary Gray’s packing facility and discussed issues they were facing, including the price of fresh red potatoes. In the afternoon the group visited Jeff Edling’s Farm. John Keeling and Jerome Edling were able to have a moment to catch up with each other. Later the group went down the road to visit Pete Ewing and toured his packing shed and shop. The group was able to see the process of how equipment preparation is done. In addition, they saw potato seed being stored to be planted another day when it would be warmer and drier out. The last stop was a tour of Wingard Farms. Topics of dis- cussion included policy, trucking, labor and improving potato prices. The evening ended with dinner at Jack and Jim’s Restaurant in Duelm where many other growers were able to attend and meet to discuss different topics with the delegation.
