Nashville, Tennessee will be the site for SNAXPO ‘93, the Snack Food Association’s (SFA) annual conven- tion and trade show, to be held at Opryland Hotel March 13-16, 1993. The theme of the convention will be “We are Family.” Snack manufac- turers, makers of potato chips, corn chips, tortilla chips, popcorn, pret- zels, cheese puffs, snack nuts, meat snacks, pork rinds, and other snacks as well as suppliers to the snack industry will come from around the world to this event. The 150,000 square-foot SNAXPO ‘93 exhibit hall will be filled with booths from more than 160 compa- nies displaying the newest and most innovative equipment, packaging, seasonings and other products and services for the snack industry. Besides munching on all the new and exciting snacks from around the world at the “Grand Ole Snack Spot,” located in the exhibit hall, snack industry representatives will be intrigued by SNAXPO ‘93 keynote speaker William Bennett, former director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy and former US Secretary of Education. Bennett will speak about the chal- lenges to America in education, drugs and culture. Other speakers include “Sunday Morning” anchor Charles Kuralt and Knight Kiplinger, editor-in- chief of Kiplinger’s Washington Letter. Kuralt will take SNAXPO ‘93 atten- dees on a retrospective journey of his wonderings along the rural byways and small towns of America. Kiplinger will offer his advice on what effect recent politi- cal and economic developments will have on the outlook for American business over the next year and beyond. To kick back and experience Nashville at its best, snack industry representatives will be entertained on Saturday, March 13th, at the Grand Ole Opry. On Monday evening they will be entertained by Trisha Yearwood, a rising country music star and winner of the 1992 American Music Award for Best Country Female Vocalist.
